As someone who got diagnosed about a year ago and is in her mid-20s, it feels really comforting finally finding a resource for other young folk with epilepsy. more often than not the forums seem to be populated by people in their 40s and 50s who've been dealing with this for years or even decades, whereas it's still new for me, so seeing other young people with the same condition makes me feel less alone. thank you to this organization

That’s odd. When I had Seizures in School my Teacher called my Mom to drive me home which must had been quite awkward because my Mom and Dad were in the Army National Guard.

I understand the anxiety and fear of having seizures that everyone is talking about. I don't want to say that it is worse to become epileptic than to have been born with epilepsy because seizures are horrible no matter how you become epileptic. Learning to accept yourself for who you are can be one of life's greatest challenges when you have been rerouted in your life's journey--especially for a child who has seen one's life dreams vanish in a matter of seconds. When I learned to look forward and not backward, my life got easier because I had something to live for. I wish everyone a positive year to look forward to.
